Vision Statement

Heritage Intermediate students are successful, prepared for the future, and soar to greater heights. They have made significant strides in their academic, social, emotional, and behavioral development. The staff at Heritage Intermediate maintain high expectations for our students and our students rise to meet those expectations. Our students value a rigorous curriculum, demonstrate critical thinking, explore curiosities, develop independence, hold to a sense of individual responsibility, and desire to be lifelong learners and leaders who will thrive in a competitive world. Heritage Intermediate values developing our students into well-rounded individuals through a variety of engaging opportunities that take place during and outside of the school day.

Heritage Intermediate sets a standard for collaboration amongst staff, parents, guardians, feeder schools, and the community at large. The success of our students is dependent upon the degree to which our community collaborates. We recognize the value in collaborating to provide our students with real world experiences. The well-known phrase, “it takes a village,” is a belief held by all Heritage Intermediate staff. Heritage Intermediate teachers find value in collaborating with each other, as they seek to further develop their craft and find innovative ways to help students achieve success.

Heritage Intermediate takes pride in being a diverse and inclusive school where students feel safe and respected. Our students and staff embody a culture of excellence and empathy. The staff at Heritage Intermediate seeks to validate and affirm the home culture and home language of our students for the purpose of building and bridging our students to success in the culture of academia and mainstream society (Hollie, 2017). Students and staff are well aware of and held accountable for our school-wide expectations to be respectful, responsible and safe.
