Mrs. Ponce de Leon

I currently teach 7th grade English Language Arts and Social Studies, and this is my fifth year at Etiwanda School District.  My time in the field of education has allowed me the great opportunity to serve communities in both Los Angeles and San Bernardino Counties.  Twelve years of working with students and their families at the elementary, middle, and high school levels has been nothing short of a dream come true!

My undergraduate coursework was completed at California State University, Fullerton.  I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Child and Adolescent Development, while partaking in two internships working closely with toddler, preschool, and school-aged children.  It was immediately after my time at CSUF that I went on to complete a multiple subject teaching credential; it was that same year I was given keys to my very first classroom teaching 6th graders!  Just one year later I was awarded a Master of
Arts in Education from Azusa Pacific University where my teacher-researcher focus was on boosting academic achievement in mathematics, multiculturalism in the classroom, and technology integration.

It is a great privilege to be a part of the Etiwanda family!
