Mrs. Pruitt

Kathy Pruitt

It takes a village! My family has lived here in Heritage Village since 1990. My own children, Laura and Ben, attended our Etiwanda schools continuing their education through college. Life happens, our family has had ups and downs but persevered through the changes. I started my second marriage in 2014. My children are now working in their chosen careers and starting their own families. I am enjoying my new sons and daughters as well as my first grandbaby.  My husband and I, along with mom, go glamping every month. We see the USA during summers by RV or cruising the world. In between I am an avid quilter/seamstress/crafter.
I started teaching here in the Etiwanda School District in 1999.  I hold a Bachelor degree from The Ohio State University and a Masters degree from Chapman University.  Through  Etiwanda's Professional Development, I continue my life long learning while earning numerous certifications and advance practices. I have taught in Etiwanda School District first as a Substitute Teacher, then full time at Summit, next at Golden, and finally we opened Heritage Intermediate.  I have taught both 6th and 8th grades, all subjects.
I also enjoy facilitating our GATE program here on campus while teaching some of the after school GATE/STEAM classes. I teach and help develop the curriculum for our Home Ec elective. I also lend a helping hand with EYL, leadership, after school help labs, and our staff Funshine.

The Etiwanda School District provides live interactive virtual instruction through the Virtual Learning Model. Please note that during virtual sessions there is no expectation of privacy. Students and anything in their background will be in view of the class.
