Mrs. Griffith

Welcome to Heritage Intermediate and sixth grade!!

My name is Lisa Griffith and I teach Language Arts and Social Studies. I received both my Bachelors and Masters degrees at  Azusa Pacific University. The first in Early Child Development with a concentration in English and the second in Education. I have been blessed to be part of the Etiwanda family for the past twenty years. This is my fourteenth year teaching sixth grade here at H.I.S. I love teaching and I currently serve as the ELA sixth grade chair.  My partner teacher, Janis Flint, will be instructing your child in Math and Science. Over the past six years, we have worked together to develop a love of knowledge and learning in our students. We work closely to provide our students a safe, respectful, and positive learning environment.

I am a teacher, but I am also a wife, a mother, and grandmother.  My husband Gary and I have been married for thirty-five years. We are vested members in this community. We have four grown children, all of whom have attended the Etiwanda School District.

I am looking forward to a very exciting and productive year!

My educational Philosophy--

When students come to school on time, attend class regularly, are respectful of themselves and their classmates, and actively participate in their education they cannot help but be successful. I believe ALL students can learn. I also strongly believe that at this stage of learning, the learning is a shared responsibility and a cooperative effort between parent, child, and teacher.  BEST learning occurs when we each embrace our responsibilities in the process. Through this cooperative learning strategy, successful lifelong educational habits are built.
